Marketing Without Google

For many years now the entire internet marketing and the broader marketing industry has been obsessed with Google and trying to rank in their search results. Take a look at some of the biggest websites on social media sites. The ones with click bait articles and top 10 lists. You think they are going out and getting bookmark backlinks?

The point of this post is to list some ways in which you can market your PLR product without relying on SEO. Sure, we aren’t going to turn down the free traffic from Google, but remember that they can take it away at any time. You shouldn’t become reliant on another business to put food on your table!

Lets jump back to a time before Google. How did people market content then? Can we still see thesame methods now?

Before we begin, remember that the internet is literally a web of pages that are interlinked. Every page on the internet can link to any other page, you just need to find out how you can use this to make a connection to your sales page and drive that traffic.

  1. Our first method is one that all of us are familiar with and that is blog commenting. But instead of looking at blogs for their SEO value, take a look at the audience. Who are they, why would they be interested in your product and how can you market to them? If they are not in ‘buying mode’ whilst they are on your target site then it may be better to send them to an informational article and try and convert them after. Or you can use a lead magnet to funnel them into your email list.

  2. Secondly we have forum posts. Again not for SEO value. Forums are some of the highest traffic websites on the internet, so if you can leak some of that traffic to your site then you can make a profit. Often the more subtle with your tactics the better.

  3. Facebook has its fair share of spammers, anyone who has joined a group knows that. But in the world of internet marketing to beat the rest you often only have to be marginally better. Interact like a normal user and have a complete profile. Then once you’re in you can drop links like no tomorrow. Ask questions about product XYZ with your affiliate link of course, if someone asks for advice then link to a post etc. But remember, for every link you submit you should also post a few times without links, purely to add value and seem natural.

  4. Twitter can also be a great playground for marketers. Tweeting out to influential people in your niche will help to increase your followers, as will using hashtags. You can often find people on Twitter who are literally saying that they need a solution for a problem. If you have that solution (your PLR product for example), then there are sales waiting out there for you.

These are literally just a few ideas that can be tweaked and applied to countless different platforms. If you are interested in learning more about these types of marketing tactics then check out this link.
